Fabrication 3 begins with a concentration in hand fabricated chains and clasps. Students will forge, saw, hammer, twist, texture and/or solder copper wire to create two or more chains. We will then work on bezel setting skills by creating a bezel cup for a large or free form cabochon stone. After an exploration of design principles and practice, the bezel cup can be used in the creation of a pendant, ring, bracelet or piece of your choice. Fab 3 is for students who have taken Fabrication 1 & 2.
Class fee of $275.00 includes all materials to make copper link chains and a copper bezel cup. Tools are provided for use. Additional materials, gemstones and sterling silver are available for purchase.
Students may want to bring a notebook for note taking and should bring a sketchbook of choice for design ideas. Studio attire includes sturdy, closed toe shoes and garments you don't mind getting dirty or an apron. Long hair should be tied back. We have safety glasses but you can bring your own. Bring reading glasses if you need them for close-up work.
All classes are in-person at our Grand Haven, Michigan Studio. When purchasing, please choose "Pick-up" as your shipping option.
Cancellation Policy: Classes and workshops are fully refundable (minus a $10 processing fee) with a minimum 48 hours notice. Cancellations received later than 48 hours will not receive a refund. We will not issue a refund if you do not show to your class.
Workshops and classes are for students 18 and up. Minors can register with prior approval and parental consent.
